Hey, Brooklynites, Check out the Greenpoint Food Market!

As if Brooklyn isn’t already the foodiest boro in the city, now we’ve got another place to flaunt our deliciousness…

The Greenpoint Food Market starts this Saturday inside the Church of the Messiah at 129 Russell St, between Nassau and Driggs. It’s all locally made yums–for a few minutes I thought about signing up to sell The Best Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies in the Entire World, but then I realized I was crazy. According to the web site, they’ll have:

Mini pies by Py-O-My

Jam by Anarchy in a Jar

Pickles by Brooklyn Brine

Kombucha by Kombucha Brooklyn

Honey by Brooklyn Honey

Kimchee by Mama O’s

Chocolate by Taza Chocolate

Cookies by Sugarbuilt

Soup by The Soup Spoon

Soda by Pumpkin & Honeybunny

A performance involving angel cake and deviled eggs by artist Hein Koh

A bake sale residency by Sweet Tooth of the Tiger

The launch of Food + Sex magazine

Custom made tote bags by Christine Cotter

The market will also feature vegan and gluten-free baked goods, beer poached bratwurst, cocktail syrup, mini tarts and bundt cakes, herb garni, boiled peanuts, granola and coconut macaroons. These specialty prepared foods will be offered and packaged to take home or enjoy at McGolrick Park across the street.

See you there?

I've decided to go to the farmer's market this weekend in downtown Buffalo. Probably not as good as this one, but lots of goodies nonetheless!

If only I lived closer. I would kill for one of those mini pies! One little thing though–Taza chocolate, while AWESOME, is actually from my neck o'the woods. (Somerville, MA) But it is so good, so don't hold that against it. 🙂

Oh, man, I wish I was going to be in New York City sooner. Next time, Brooklyn for sure!

I'm bummed to announce that we didn't make it over there yesterday. Next week we'll try again!
