Parents Need to Eat Too SM: Coming Soon to Bookstores Everywhere

Parents Need to Eat Too SM: Coming Soon to Bookstores Everywhere

You read that right, my friends. I’m writing a cookbook! I’ve been hinting at it for a while now, but I’d been advised to be prudent and wait until the contract was finalized. Well, I’ve got the contract and it’s official: Parents Need to Eat Too: 150+ Simple, Healthy Recipes for Sleep Deprived, Frazzled New Moms & Dads will be published next year by Harper Paperbacks. (You may have noticed the SM up there in the header—it ain’t pretty, but the time has come to stake my claim.)

If it’s not, y’know, 100% obvious, the book is closely tied to the blog, and especially to the cooking classes I’ve been teaching for the last year. (Another round of those is coming soon, I promise—if you’d like an early alert, send me an email.) It’ll be filled with all the tricks and techniques I’ve developed over the last few years, ways to get a healthy, satisfying, and most of all delicious meal on the table when there’s a new baby in the house. Nap-Time Cooking, Big Batch Cooking, One-Handed Meals… Plus amusing and even embarrassing stories about my own experiences with Harry. I’d love to tell you more, but it’s still in the early stages. All in good time, grasshopper.

One thing I can tell you: If you’ve got a baby who’s not yet a year old, you can become part of the cookbook! Right now there are parents all over the country testing recipes for the book. Each month I send out a list of recipes, and participants choose two (or more) to test and report back on. They’re getting a sneak peek at the material, and I’m including quotes from testers in the book. My motto for all this: The More, The Merrier. Would you like to participate? Drop me a line with your name and the age of your baby.

I’m nearly as excited for this as I was for the arrival of Harry himself. Wish me luck!
