When you let your blog lie fallow for two-plus years, several things happen. First, you lose A LOT of your old readership (come back! If you forgive me, I forgive you!). Second, your blogging muscles go a little slack, so you’ve got to keep flexing them to get back into the swing (I’m getting better at this, I think). And third, your blogroll gets really, really, really old.
It was embarrassing, the number of dead links I had posted on the left side of this page. But the thought of spending hours taking them all out and adding new ones was daunting enough that I did what I always do in such a situation: I procrastinated. I had deadlines, real ones for work, so that helped. But I also had Twitter and Facebook and oh so many other things to do, all much more important (ha!) than updating ye olde blogroll.
But today, I bit the bullet. I cleaned up all those dead links, and added a slew of entertaining new ones. Click below to see just the newbies—I was going to write a little note about each one, explaining why I like it, but when you see just how many there are you’ll understand why I skipped that step:
